About the journal

We write the line between water and mountain

Horizon is an independent editorial project about Lake Geneva (Léman) and the Swiss Alps — light, paths, vineyards, and the everyday culture of the shore.

What we are

Horizon publishes long-form essays and photo-led notes for readers who want Switzerland’s lakeside landscape without a sales pitch. We are a journal: we observe, compare seasons, and describe how places feel when you walk them slowly.

We are not a hotel website, tour operator, or reservation desk. We do not publish prices, booking forms, or commercial offers. When we mention a viewpoint, pier, or hillside belvedere — including places associated with names such as Petit Mirador — we treat them as subjects of cultural and geographic interest, not as products.

What we cover

Editorial stance

Swiss luxury, for us, is not a brochure word. It is restraint: clean sentences, accurate enough geography, and respect for ordinary minutes — a dog shaking lake water onto warm stone, fog cancelling a panorama, a vineyard wall that has outlasted fashion.

This site is an informational resource. Content is written in English for an international readership interested in place, not transactions.
